Pastor collects money to check if your name is in the ‘book of life’

The way to heaven have been apparently simplified by on of the supposedly "Man of God"...how thoughtful of him. It couldnt be any easier. Controversial Bishop Thomas Wahome of Helicopter of Christ Church in Nairobi collects money to check if people’s names are in the ‘book of life’. NairobiXposed did a short story about him describing the “Man of God” and his church as “just out of this world” and “known to craft very bizarre ways of conning his flock.”

In 2012, it was said that the pastor (Wahome) charged his congregation the sum of Sh. 1,200 if they wanted to touch (the hem of his) garment like the lady in Mark 5:21-34 who touched the hem of Jesus’ garment. Bishop Wahome says that people who touched the hem of his garment were instantly healed of whatever ailment it was that troubled them.

 Quite unconventional means to display faith while seeking Gods blessings, i must say. There are women looking for husbands and some of them will do almost anything to get one. Lol.

So here's what happened. The pastor of a branch of Winners Chapel in Enugu during a church service asked all the single women to wear wedding dresses to church if they want to get married this year.

The following week, single women stormed the church service in wedding dresses. A Blog reader who attended the service said it was the funniest thing she'd ever seen and many people had a good laugh. The women were asked to sit in front and receive special prayers with seed sowing involved. Bridal houses came to church that day and rented wedding dresses to women. See more photos after the cut.

Religious Tension Looms In Baptist Mission School in Osun.

Tension, yesterday, enveloped a popular school in Osun State, the Baptist High School, Iwo, as the students wore different dresses that suited their religious inclination to school.

The students, thereby, defiled the state government uniform specification recently introduced in all public secondary schools in the state as part of the schools reclassification programme. Moreover, they were singing different religious songs while on the assembly for the morning devotion.

While the Christian students who wore white garments sang Christian songs, the Muslim students who appeared in veil sang Muslim songs. The school management immediately sent the students to their various classrooms and informed the state Ministry of Education of the development.

Responding to the situation, the state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr Sunday Akere said government was aware of the development and was making efforts to bring sanity back to the system. According to him, the state Ministry of Education have been drafted to the school to prevent further breakdown of law and order.

Herbalists Ask Governor Fashola To Build Hospitals For Traditional Medicine

Herbalists in Lagos want Governor Babatunde Fashola to support their craft by establishing institutions. Tuesday 4th February 2014, the Lagos State Chapter of the Nigeria Union of Medical Herbal Practitioners, called on the Lagos state government to allocate lands to the union.

The union will like the government to build general hospitals and maternity centers across the state for the practice of traditional medicine. Vanguard reports.

The union with two million plus members, appealed to Governor Babtunde Fashola to accept their request as “a parting gift and lasting legacy” for the promotion of herbal medicine practice to compliment orthodox medical practice in Lagos.

Leaders of the unions informed that the hospital and maternity centres will create a forum for the government to monitor their practice as well as confirm the power of their practice and regulate them effectively
