Who says Gospel artists are not getting it rosey? Guess again dear.
SelahAfrik got exclusive report that FreeNation’s Flagship Artiste Ada is rounding off talks with a South African clothing company for young and trendy Christians. – Ada is to become the clothing line’s brand ambassador.

The deal which has been vocalized is still undergoing the full process of documentation. Ada will become the face of this clothing line and as such will be styled for her upcoming Campus Tour. Also, her wardrobe will henceforth be supplied by the line for a period of a year.

Ada said the deal made her realize how large her fan base is getting both within and beyond the borders of Nigeria. She was however surprised that her brand was considered for the role, according to information gathered.

Ada released her double CD album November 2013 and has been on an uphill movement eversince. One of such feat is the album selling out within the space of 2 weeks of release such that reproduction had to be made. She is getting ready for her Campus tour across Africa and the brand ambassadorship deal just heightened the expectations of fans.

Congrats to Ada and FreeNation from #TeamSelahAfrik!

Man divorces wife of 16 years for converting to Christianity

A Kubwa Upper Area Court, Abuja, on Wednesday, dissolved a 16-year old marriage between Idris Abubakar and his wife Aishat, over his wife’s resolve to change her religion to Christianity. The Presiding Officer, Alhaji Lawal Munir, said Islamic legal system (Sharia) provided that a mere denouncement of Islam by any of the parties automatically dissolved a marriage.

“A case when one of the Muslim spouses denounces Islam and changes religion, the marriage is dissolved,” he said.

Munir held that the petitioner’s directive that the wife should pack out of the house was proper because they were no longer husband and wife. The judge said the only contention was the custody of the four children as their interest and welfare must be protected. He granted custody of the children to the husband because they have been living with the petitioner since their mother abandoned them three years ago.

Earlier, Abubakar, who hailed from Okene, Kogi, told the court that he married his wife, Aishat under Islamic laws as a Muslim in 1998, but she has changed to Christianity. He said their daughter, Kadija Abudullahi, informed him that her mother was always praying in a Christian way and she attended Church services every Sunday.

Abubakar said when he confronted his wife on the issue, she did not deny it and therefore, urged the court to dissolve the marriage. The petitioner, who asked the court to direct Aishat to vacate his house, applied for the custody of the children. He said if the court granted her the custody of the children, who had completed recitation of the Holy Quran and preparing for its memorisation, she would influence their religion.

Aishat, who accepted the divorce and agreed to pack out of the matrimonial home, however, urged the court to grant her the custody of two of the children.

“Abubakar can go with the first two children, a son and a daughter, while I should be in custody of the two younger ones, also male and female.

And if you are not ready to forsake your father and mother (....and husband in this case) for my sake, then you are not my disciple. I will still urge the lady not to distance herslf from the estranged spouse but to still fight the last straw to bring him to the knowlegd and light of Christ.

According to a testimony from one of Prophet TB Joshua’s church member on Emmanuel TV, Thaddeus a Nigerian but living in Cameroon used to be gay. But thanks to Prophet TB Joshua, that demon was been chased out of him after an encounter with Prophet TB Joshua’s Wise men.

Mr Thaddeus, a Nigerian from Imo State but residing in Cameroon, was travelling to Asia and had a long stopover in an African country where he stayed in a hotel with a swimming pool. He went for a swim with fellow men then went to eat and sleep.

That night in a dream, he saw himself swimming in the same swimming pool naked

Nigerian gay pastor Rev. Jide Macaulay writes about acceptance

you remember the gay pastor who was reported to have relocated to the UK? if you miss the story, read it here. The pastor, Reverend Rowland Jide Macaulay used to run a secret gay church in Ojodu Berger Lagos called House of Rainbow Fellowship. He relocated abroad some years back after a major newspaper did a story on his homosexual church and he started to get threats. He's still running his gay church in the UK and has been speaking out publicly against the recently passed anti-gay law in Nigeria.

Rev. Jide Macaulay recently penned an emotional article about being rejected by his father when he came out as a homosexual in 1994 and his acceptance of his lifestyle many years later. see picture of him n father below.

Pope Francis covers Rolling Stone magazine February issue

He's been on the cover of TIME magazine and now Rolling Stone. He's the first pontiff to grace the cover of Rolling Stone. He's on the cover of the music magazine's Feb. 13 issue as part of an in-depth profile entitled "The Times They Are A-Changin'.

The Pope is really a trendy public figure. He was named TIMES personality of the year 2013, was also nominated as Best Dressed male in esquire magazine.

Goes to show religiousness is not only associated with rags and soberness all the time. i guess by this way, he stand a better chance of relating to the "unbelievers" and ministering to them. Paul said, when i am in Rome, i act like a Roman...to win them over to Christ.

Boko Haram Have Killed 31 Of His Parishioners And Injured 11 – Adamawa Bishop

adamawa_bishop_pro_boko_haram

I made a post on the recent Boko Haram attacks on a church in Adamawa state nigeria. if you missedmit, see it here and here. today, here is a personal account of the Bishop heading the church in that region.

Bishop Mamza said the attack, suspected to be the work of Boko Haram, left 31 parishioners dead, and 11 others mutilated by knives and gun wounds.
“The attack took place in our out-station Church on Sunday morning in a village called Waga Chakawa. The Church is under St. Dennis Catholic Church, Madagali in Adamawa State. They were about to finish Holy Mass with the Catechist when the suspected men arrived in Hilux vans and some on motorcycles.
“Those that were escaping through the widow were being slaughtered like rams and others killed through their sophisticated guns.” “I have never seen this tragedy; it is a gradual elimination of people with impunity and desecration and sanctity of human lives.”
The Bishop said after the gang had finished with the helpless villagers inside the Church, the attackers went into the village and slaughtered about ten people of several Churches and escaped without any response. Bishop Mamza had a plea for the Nigerian government,
“I am begging in the name of God, government and security agencies should come to the aid of poor Nigerians irrespective of their religion, status or whatever and give them protection. We are mourning these children and adults whose innocent lives were brutally stuffed out of them unjustifiably.”
what more can one say? Indeed, the kingdom of God suffers violence.
the Government should put a conscious effort to addressing this issue. I believe this boko haram are a menance to both christians and non christians alike.

Photo of the day: SUPERMAN POPE. lol

“We share with you a graffiti found in a Roman street near the Vatican,” the Pontifical Council for Social Communications from the Holy See said on its official Twitter page. Speeding forwards with his fist raised, the heroic pontiff — crucifix swinging in the wind — carries his trademark black bag, with the word “values” written across it, in Spanish, in white letters.

The 77-year-old Argentine pontiff is renowned for throwing off his security and plunging into the crowds to greet pilgrims, and often uses jokes or stories to spread the values of the Church. The pope is a keen Twitter user himself, regularly posting tweets on his own feeds in nine languages, which boast more than 10 million followers in total.
