See community in Anambra state, Nigeria where it is forbbiden to wear trousers.

WOMEN-TROUSERS

Surprised? the local community is really doing well to maintain the core african values of old no matter how archaic and primittive you think it is. Late last year, i brought to you a story of how the wife of a monarch proposed to flogg girls who dressed indecently in her community, (see it HERE) and now this? Following the sort of nudity and madness we see this days in the name of latest fashion, i think this is a rather good call. Or what do you think? Anyway, to the story:

Akwaihedi community in Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra State has reportedly passed a draconian law forbidding women from wearing trousers. Accordingly, anyone that flouts the law will be fined N50, 000. A source said:
“Anyone caught breaking the law will be molested and fined N50, 000 or be banished”.

The source said but for the quick intervention of youths, female members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), posted to the community, would have been striped. One of the affected corps member (names withheld), said she was surprised when the ruler berated her for wearing the NYSC uniform, which includes khaki trousers.

Another source, who preferred anonymity, alleged that 10 people had been fined by the community court for flouting the law. The source said the situation was serious as policemen were not permitted to enter the community because the monarch said the traditional court would handle domestic issues. The law promulgated by the Igwe and the president-general of the town union, stipulated that no woman should wear trousers. They also banned women from appearing in public without covering their heads.

A correspondent of The Nation, who spoke with the traditional ruler of the community, Lt.-Col. Wisdom Onebunne (rtd), claimed that the matter had been resolved and refused to go into further details.

The woman shall not where that which pertaineth to a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment; for all those that do so ia sn abomination to the lord. Deut 22:5. I think God foresaw all these right from the days of Moses to give a law to that effect. Call me old-fashioned, but i think this law is still very relevant even in this new era.

Ladies, make una shine eye when you dey travel go village oo. you fit enter  one villa dem go flog demon comot from your body. lol.
