2015 Polls: Dont vote based on religion - W.F. Kumuyi

Leader of the Deeper Life Bible church, Pastor William Kumuyi has asked Nigerians to critically examine the manifesto of those seeking elective offices to determine their suitability or otherwise for election in the forthcoming general polls.

Kumuyi, who spoke with journalists in Ilorin on arrival for take-off of a three-day crusade by his ministry. He asked Nigerians to separate ‘pronouncements’ from ‘prophecies about the future of the
country. The clergy said Nigerians must put hands together to elect people who will do the will of the majority while those who eventually get elected must understand that they come into office for the good of the people and live it.

He described his visit to the north central state as one meant beyond religion and ethnicity, saying he was sure God loves the people of Kwara and had seen what they might be passing through either as individuals or groups and was ready to bring his supernatural power to intervene in their affairs.

According to AFP, He described as ‘mere speculations’, the insinuations about the possible break-up of Nigeria after 2015 general elections.
“Let there be enlightenment; let the media tell us this is where Nigeria ought to be. For instance, we all want an economically stable Nigeria, we all want security so let everyone become conscious of that and let all of us know that the task of doing it is not for just a few people.
We should look at the manifesto of politicians and pick the ones that will deliver, that will help the people, we should not pick just because of religion or ethnic considerations. We must join hands and put people in place that will do the will of the people. If we vote for the right people, this country will be great and our politicians must always remember that they are in office for the people.
God has a purpose for Nigeria and when people talk of division, the truth is that once you start the process, it never ends. Once you say, people in the north go your way and those in the south go your way, there are other people who will also rise up to say they too want to go their way even within you. You know what happened in the 60s; several sides will begin to ask to go away but I know that God has a purpose for bringing Nigeria together and we shall remain one.
Sometimes people misunderstood the power of prophecy and there are people who will say negative pronouncements. Pronouncements are not necessarily prophecies. Every utterance on Nigeria breaking up are pronouncements made from observations and not prophecies. I believe those who made those pronouncements based on some things they see or feel should say they feel Nigeria may break up and not that God says because if God could hear the voice of only Moses and spared Israel and they are still existing over 3000 years after then God loves Nigeria and would not allow it to break up.”
