Dieziani Alison-Madueke elected first female President of OPEC

So excited about this news, I had to feature it on here even though it has no bearing with this blog.

Nigeria's Minister of Petroleum, Dieziani Alison-Madueke has been elected the first female president of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC). She was elected today at the ongoing 166th General Meeting of the body in Vienna, Austria. She replaces former president of OPEC, Libyan Vice Prime Minister for Corporations, Abdourhman Atahar-Ahirish. She was elected for one
year and is expected to immediately resume office.

Congrats to her! Woaaaw!! You know, back in the days, i was looking forward to Dr. Okonjo-Iwuala becoming the President of the World Bank. It will happen. Just pray and keep your fingers crossed.

These women should really be a challenge to our African women, Nigerian girls in particular. Young girls who are still looking for guys to send them recharge cards or take them out and buy them sharwama and ice-cream to make their day. Sweet heart, You dont have to depend on any guy for your needs, you dont have to wait for any man, even your husband, to give you value! You have more value than you give yourself credits for. Look within yourself and find that virtue hidden within you and put it to use.

You can put more productive use to your time other than viewing soft-sell magazines, romance soap-operas and pinging or facebooking. or Instagramming... lol. Kim K and Rihanna may not be the best role models for you if you are going to "Break the Internet" lolz. You can become someone notable in life. You can become a successful career person and still have a good home and working marriage.

God help you as you resolve to become a better lady, a lady to reckon with in your generation. Cheers
