So last week, a news went viral on many blogs and media outlets including yours truly about the Pastor who suggested jail term for girls that call the name of God during sex. Well as it turns out to be, the story was a prank taken too far and such reports were
unfounded.
Whoopi is a laugh a minute, but Pastor John Hagee didn't think the story she reported about him was very funny. In the end, neither did Whoopi.
ABC's The View co-host offered an apology to Hagee, pastor of Cornerstone Church in San Antonio, Texas, for report a false story about him. The story claimed Hagee thinks women who shout God's name at inappropriate times should be "thrown in jail."
The false story claimed Hagee said: "If it were up to me, I would put every single woman or girl who does that in jail," said Hagee in the report. "That would be a fine example of God's wrath aimed at what is, in my opinion, a terrible misuse of our Maker's good name."
Of course, Goldberg wasn't the only one to get it wrong. The Daily Mail reported the same story. The source of the error was Newslo.com.
"The story is a complete fabrication," Hagee's ministry said in a statement. "It's written by a website that makes up these kind of stories in an effort to be humorous. All media outlets that have picked up this story have been contacted by John Hagee Ministries and will issue a retraction or face legal action."
