Josephine King is a 92-year old Georgia woman who has been a member of Bainbridge's First African Baptist Church for the past 50 years. However, she recently received a letter from the church, signed by the Senior Pastor Derrick Mike, informing her that she was "no longer considered a member" because she failed to maintain
"constant and consistent financial and physical participation." (according to WALB-TV.)
Yet the explanation for this is so simple. Mrs King had been 'shut-in' for several months due to an illness that prevented her from going to church; thereby giving her poor attendance; and this also meant that she could not pay her tithes.
Her shocked and displeased nephew had these words to say:
" You have to have money to make these churches run, but it's not about money, it's about GOD. You have to put GOD first."
"You shouldn't chase the individuals down, You shouldn't do that. If that's the case, you're money hungry"
Apparently Mrs King wasn't even the first church member to be removed for not tithing! The enemy will not cause us to pull down the Church of GOD by losing sight of what is most important in Jesus' mighty Name! Amen!
