Cameroonians donate blood to soldiers fighting Boko Haram

This was actually moving for me to see as local people from another country show their support to the soldiers fighting against the Boko Haram terrorist group. Hundreds of Cameroonians
lined up at the sports complex in the capital, Yaounde in order to donate their blood.

For some, the donation was more of a personal exercise. For example Iyawa Fadimatou claimed to be giving blood so that the military could avenge the deaths of three of her family members who were killed during a suicide bomb attack in the north of the country.
“I am a Cameroonian and this is a civic engagement for me to show my patriotism. This is my own way to react against Boko Haram,” she said.

For others, the donations acted as a way of simply showing their support for the soldiers. As a man called Joel Neba said:
“My motivation for donating blood today is to help those who have been injured on the battlefront and to tell them that even though we are not at the battlefront with them, we believe that by donating our blood it will help those who are in need,”

It's lovely to see people thinking compassionately about the men and women that risk their lives in these battles against terrorism that we all fight. As The Word of GOD says, we ought to love our neighbours as we love ourselves for GOD's will to be established in our lives and countries. May GOD help us to do so in Jesus' Name. Amen!
