
Previously, we brought you news of the Nigerian Arch-Bishop who was recently appointed as the second in command in the Church of England's Anglican communion. If you missed the story, read it HERE. Ironically, he has a lecturing job in Theology schools where he teaches Islam! lol. Anyway, once again, a Nigerian is appointed in another Church in Englang as an Arch-deacon and this time its a SHE. Cute right?
Revered Elizabeth Adekunle who trained for priesthood at Ridley Hall, Cambridge, during which she completed a
second Masters in Pastoral Care and Counseling will take on the senior clerical position within the Diocese of London, overseeing parishes in Hackney, Islington and Tower Hamlets.
Adekunle also read Theology at Birmingham University and did a Masters degree at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) in African Christianity and Development.
"Elizabeth is a hugely gifted priest" The Bishop of London said, "I am confident she will make a significant contribution to the area as well as to the policy formation and the life of the Diocese as a whole”
Elizabeth Adekunle takes up the position next year, 2016.
