IF YOU DON’T WANT TO BE SEXUALLY HARASSED, GO BACK TO YOUR VILLAGE - ACTRESS QUEENETH AGBOR

This kind of news of a flimsy statement from a relatively unknown actress should not even find its way on here, a gospel blog but I just couldn't overlook this. Has is really gotten to this? Like really, has it gotten to a point where the decay in the society is so deep that is has now been regarded as "its a normal thing".

Upcoming Nollywood actress, Queeneth Agbor, has aired her opinion on the continuous claims about sexual harassment in the Nigerian movie industry stating that it is a normal thing that will happen. According to the actress, any actress who does not want to be harassed should return to her village as they have choice of accepting or rejecting the advances.

“If you don’t want to be harassed as girl, you should go back to your village. Ladies only have the choice to say yes or no when being harassed and not find sexual harassment strange,” she told Goldmyne TV.

According to the story on Nigeriafilmsng, The actress pointed that actors do not harass actors but those in-charge of the movie production which are the producers, directors and others.

“Actors do not harass fellow actors but those in-charge of the movie production,” she said.

Yes, we know many upcoming actress sell off their dignity all in a bid to make it in the industry. She probably did the same too. But as rampant as it may have become, should it now be considered a normal thing? Bosses harass their female subordinates in office. we know how it goes when you want a job desperately, or when in need of that promotion. But as often as it may be, should it regarded as normal? If am not a lawyer, I can swear I know that there should be a law against sexual harassment in office.

How on earth will a woman, not even a man who will then be described as a sexist, but a woman who should be all out against sexual harassment, come out openly to endorse it as normal! How insane can this be?

Uncles harass their nieces, husbands sexually assault their female househelps, even fathers violate their own daughters these days! While we are on a serious war against sexual abuse and harrasment on many levels, this lady comes out to drop such a statement. Will she also come out to say that rape is a normal thing too? The end is really near.
