In the state of Michigan, USA, 3 children have been ordered to a juvenile detention centre for the past 2 weeks by a judge called Lisa Gorcyca for refusing to have lunch with their father!

The children were reportedly caught up in their parent's custody battle and were ordered by the judge during a hearing on June 24th to visit their parents. The 9, 10 and 15 year old children then showed their reluctance to spend time with their father, giving reasons such as that 'He's a violent man' and 'they once saw him hit their mother'. (paraphrased)
Of course the judge did not buy any of this and proceeded to threaten them, even going as far as to ask the 9-year old girl 'Do you like going to the bathroom in front of people?', as a way of threatening to send her to a detention centre. Gorcyca also allegedly said to one of the brothers 'You're supposed to have a high IQ, which I'm doubting right now' before proceeding to declare that 'he has no manners'.
In addition to all this, their mother was banned from visiting them and the judge ordered that the 3 children be separated from each other as much as possible.
Ouch! all of this for simply deciding not to have lunch with your father? The Word does say that we should honour our fathers and mothers in order to have abundant life but is this judge making too big of a deal of this??
